CONCORD, NH — After a period of strategic reorganization, The Granite Eagle is returning to full-time publishing—reaffirming its commitment to independent journalism, bold analysis, and thoughtful reporting. With this relaunch, the publication proudly announces that longtime New Hampshire columnist Chris Thompson will serve as Editor-in-Chief, ushering in a new era of editorial leadership and engagement.

Thompson, a New Hampshire native and seasoned writer, brings nearly two decades of experience in business, political commentary, and public discourse. His widely read column, Closing the Deal, ran weekly in the Union Leader from 2007 to 2024 and built a loyal following across the Granite State. His newest column, The Right Angle, continues that tradition and will now serve as a centerpiece of The Granite Eagle’s editorial voice.

"I'm incredibly excited to take on this role," said Thompson. “The Granite Eagle represents everything good about journalism—facts, substance, and the freedom to speak plainly. In a world where too many media outlets bend to political pressure or trend-driven narratives, this publication stands for something different. And I intend to keep it that way.”

The Granite Eagle was founded on the belief that journalism should inform, inspire, and engage with clarity and purpose. Created by New Hampshire business leader Jay Lucas, the outlet was designed to elevate fact-based reporting and diverse perspectives, free from the constraints of legacy media bias. As part of that vision, Granite Eagle Press publishes a weekly newsletter featuring original reporting, commentary, and long-form pieces that explore the issues shaping our communities and country.

Under Thompson’s leadership, the publication will expand its reach while holding firm to its core principles: free speech, accuracy, and a commitment to meaningful conversation. New contributors are being welcomed, and readers can expect a sharp, unapologetic tone that reflects both Granite State values and national relevance.
