DURHAM, N.H. — Gov. Kelly Ayotte remains a popular figure in New Hampshire, with a net positive job approval rating, according to the latest Granite State Poll conducted by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center.

Ayotte holds a 49% approval rating statewide, compared to 41% who disapprove of her job performance—a net positive of 8 percentage points. This contrasts with President Joe Biden’s standing in New Hampshire, where his policies have faced sharper criticism, and Ayotte’s approval surpasses that of several regional governors, including Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey, who holds a 45% approval rating, and Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee, who sits at just 19% approval.
Ayotte’s leadership on key issues has resonated with voters. The poll found that 69% of residents support banning student cell phone use in classrooms, while only 21% oppose the policy. Additionally, 47% support local law enforcement partnerships with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, compared to 50% who oppose it.
Ayotte’s approach, which emphasizes practical solutions on issues like housing, taxes, and public safety, has helped her maintain broad appeal. Her net positive approval suggests a strong base of support as she continues to navigate the challenges facing New Hampshire.
To date, no Ayotte has yet to generate a Democrat opponent, which may be due to her high approval ratings making unseating her an uphill battle.
