58 disgraceful Democrats voted against House resolution honoring Charlie Kirk

ree

On Friday, September 19th, 2025, the House passed a resolution condemning the assassination of Charlie Kirk and all forms of political violence and honoring his life, leadership and legacy. In a show of bi-partisan support, 95 Democrats supported the resolution. Not surprisingly, there were a large number of Democrats who refused to put politics aside, with 58 voting against the resolution and 38 Democrats voting “present”.

While I’m not shocked by the lack of support from Democrats, I honestly thought Charlie Kirk’s assassination would be a moment where Americans could, at least temporarily, put aside our personal differences, mourn Charlie Kirk and focus on what it means to be an American. This was an opportunity to do just that, but Democrats just couldn’t pull it off. It’s a sad state of the union when we can’t come together, after one of the most horrific assassinations we have witnessed in years.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14) chose to go on a rant on the House floor following the resolution and stated, “His (Charlie Kirk) rhetoric and beliefs were ignorant, uneducated and sought to disenfranchise millions of Americans.” What a complete disgrace and pathetic pile of words. She should be ashamed of herself and expelled.

The assassination of Charlie Kirk was an attack on America. It was an attack on free speech. It was an attack on the core values that shaped our country. For those reasons, every American, regardless of political affiliation, should be outraged.

Charlie Kirk was a legend. He purposely gave those who opposed him an open microphone to make their case in one of the most hostile environments in America, college campuses. He did so with compassion, patience and thoughtful debate. And he changed thousands of minds along the way.

Since the assassination of Charlie Kirk, I haven’t said much publicly about it. There were plenty of others doing that. I’ve spent a lot of time processing the events and to this day, I’m still having a hard time comprehending how something like this could happen. I suppose that is something everyone has struggled to understand and there’s a long list of reasons why.

I also struggle to grasp why so many Democrats are disconnected from reality and the vast majority of Americans. They want open borders. They want crime riddled cities. They want men playing in women’s sports. They want men in women’s locker rooms. They protect vicious criminals. It just doesn’t make any sense.

Yet for some strange reason, these lunatic left-wing extremists keep getting elected. Where is the outrage? It starts with every single one of us and it’s up to every American to help educate others about the elected officials who continue to destroy the core values of our country. There are too many people who don’t pay attention to what is happening around them and have no clue that the people they voted for conduct themselves in such a vile way.

To assist with the identification of the Representatives who voted against the resolution honoring Charlie Kirk, I would like to share a list of their names and associated states. If you are represented by any of them, it’s up to you to initiate change.

This useless retread of partisan Trumpian talking points is a good example why the country is so divided.
